Rock ON !

well ,the concert was great, and we had no traffic worries.
Our only pre-gig problem was finding the chip shop.

Switchfoot were fantastic - the lead singer Jon is completely bonkers - singing into his guitar pickup, stealing a cymbal from the drumkit for his own percussion solo, heading offstage and singing part of a song from the barriers round the Sounddesk at the back of the crowd.

They mainly played songs from their newer albums, but it was great to hear them play some "oldies" for fans like me who've been following them since they last payed in Scotland, in 2001 and in 1998 - hopefully it won't be another 5 years before we see them here again.

I felt sorry for them though - Lemonade productions, the guys who put on the fantastic Frenzy festival each year, only had standing tickets for the downstairs section, which ended up busy, but not packed. The venue then had tickets for downstairs seating, and seats upstairs in the balcony, both of which were very sparsely populated. The venue was great, but perhaps a little big for the crowd - it would have been great to see them at somewhere like th LIquid Rooms in Edinburgh.
